Be Resilient. Talk to Your Neighbors About Emergency Preparedness.

How can you become a more resilient community? Talk to your neighbors.

We encourage you to start conversations about emergency preparedness within your own neighborhoods. Discuss questions like:

Who may need further assistance during an emergency?

Who has special skills that may be beneficial in an emergency: CPR training, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) member, HAM radio operator?

Who has special equipment that could help after an emergency: chain saws, chippers/shredders, utility trailers, etc.?

Who could assist your pets and/or children if you are not home when an emergency occurs?

What are two routes out of your neighborhood?

During a large-scale emergency, first responders will be inundated with calls and may not be able to get to you right away. Get to know your neighbors; they may be the ones helping you in a time of crisis.
