Maricopa County Board of Supervisors honored the winners of the 2019 Stormwater Pollution Awareness Poster Contest this week.
Stormwater runoff is one of the leading causes of water pollution in the United States. In an effort to bring awareness to this problem, elementary students in Maricopa County were encouraged to submit posters supporting the message “From Streets to Streams, Let’s Keep it Clean!”
A total of 211 entries from fifteen schools were received and judged based on artwork, originality, and message delivery.
Each winner was presented a certificate from the Board of Supervisors.
The winning posters will be used as part of the Stormwater Quality outreach efforts.
